Mike Martel - Zoning Board of Appeals Candidate

I’ve proudly called Tolland home for nearly 10 years, having moved to Connecticut in 1988 from Los Angeles. With a strong belief in fairness and public service, I’m honored to serve as the current Chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals and am seeking re-election to continue advocating for thoughtful, balanced decision-making.

• Member of the Tolland Technology Advisory Board since 2017
• Secretary of the Connecticut Poultry Association
• Network Engineer with the Connecticut Education Network, supporting schools, libraries, towns, and public safety statewide
• Dedicated family man, animal lover, foodie, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt

​In my time on the ZBA, I’ve focused on ensuring every applicant gets a fair opportunity to present their case. As Chair, I work hard to keep communication open, each appeal timely and efficient, and every decision rooted in impartiality. I look forward to continuing to serve Tolland with respect, consistency, and a commitment to the community we all share.
